Feeling Undervalued

The S&P 500 Index [SPX] at 5,976.97 is just 170.46 points shy of its all-time high of 6,147.43 achieved on 2025-02-19. It feels inevitable that SPX will establish a new all-time high in short order. If it does achieve a new all-time high, how sustainable will that level be? Could it go even higher?

Let’s examine just one metric for both SPX and the Portfolio for the Ages: P/E ratio.

QCOM3,558.56
SCL1,523.76

There is an additional $251.74 in uninvested income available this week. The lowest amount belongs to SCL which last traded at $54.42. Therefore, I will acquire 9 shares on Monday. Dividend King of the Week [SCL][3]

This week, seven of the portfolio holdings ranked in the Top 10: BDX, FMCB, HTO, PPG, QCOM, and SCL.

FMCB3,998.00

SCL977.22

The lowest amount belongs to SCL which last traded at $54.29. Therefore, I will acquire 5 shares of SCL on Monday. See the 2025-05-25 post for a high-level look at their recent performance in the context of the last 16 years. Below, is the purchase history and average cost calculation.

Dividend King of the Week [SCL]

This week, five of the portfolio holdings ranked in the Top 10: BDX, HTO, PPG, QCOM, and TGT.

HTO3,303.72
PPG3,082.24
QCOM3,343.74
TGT2,734.41

The lowest amount belongs to TGT. Unfortunately, investing $250+ into TGT will create a portfolio imbalance where technically only 1 stock would be eligible for further investment and that stock is FRT. Unfortunately, FRT did not make the Top Ten. That can only mean one thing:

It is time to add a new position to the Portfolio for the Ages!

Dividend King of the Week [BDX][5]

Dividend Stock of the Week [NNN][2]

This week, five of the portfolio holdings ranked in the Top Ten: BDX, GRC, PII, PPG, and TGT.

TickerAccount Value
BDX2,341.08
GRC3,332.16
PII2,291.31
PPG3,064.32
TGT2,795.60

The lowest amount belongs to PII. Unfortunately, there exists a sector imbalance and the only sector worthy of additional investment at this time is real estate. None of the companies above are in the real estate sector, and none appeared in the Top Ten. However, 30 of the 79 stocks in the Royal Dividends Empire met the criteria from which the Top Ten is skimmed. I had to expand all the way to a ‘Top 25’ to get the first real estate company and, lo and behold, it is NNN from our current portfolio. It last traded at $41.69 and I will acquire 6 shares on Monday. Below, is the purchase history and average cost calculation.
